The Swim Teacher Academy is open to anyone 16 and over—students, career changers or parents/carers. Gain new skills, impact your community and enjoy a flexible schedule.
What you’ll be doing:
- Start as a volunteer, earn your SEQ Level 1 Assistant qualification, then complete SEQ Level 2 Teaching.
- Get funded training plus ongoing support.
- Choose flexible hours—day, evening, or weekend shifts.

rising stars
Aged 14-16? Join Rising Stars to volunteer, learn key skills, and gain real-world experience assisting swimming lessons. It’s your first step toward inspiring others in the water.
What you’ll be doing:

Help out in swimming lessons with support from experienced teachers.

After turning 16 and completing 20 hours over 12 months, you can join the Swim Teacher Academy.
